LVA presents a three part selection of material from its archive; an entertaining and subjective fast-forward through decades of material. Programmed by Michael Maziere of LVA.
Part Three: The 90's - Touching the Screen
ABSURD John Maybury 1990 5 mins
Maybury's Absurd is a collage of his earlier work, with new footage, which expresses and reflects his experiences of the past decade. Like his earlier work it weaves a rich tapestry of decadent, erotic and personal imagery.
ARCHAOS Jutie Kuzminska 1990 11 mins
A creative and highly original document of the anarchic and challenging circus Archaos. A celebration of music, colour, the body and theatre in a dense and accomplished video. Winner of the Golden World Graph at the Locarno Video Festival.
GRANNY'S IS David Larcher 1990 45 mins
David Larcher has been working in the film and video medium for over 20 years with a series of epic experimental films and a number of film/video works for broadcast. Granny's Is is a semiological portrait of a personal and often painful relationship. From Proustian remembrance to post-aesthetic fragmentation, the tape is a kaleidoscope tour de force and a visual challenge for the viewer.
Presented at The Unity Theatre
