Description:
The UK premiere screening of Bill Viola's new work, DESERTS is supported by two recent documentary profiles of Viola plus the other leading light in the world of video art: Gary Hill.

SITES RECITED mixes interview footage (with Hill and long-time collaborators Charles Stein and George Quasha), extracts from single-screen pieces and illuminating exhibition material to assemble a thoughtful, accessible introduction to Hill's multi-faceted and audacious work.

The tape on Viola, SITE OF THE UNSEEN, delves, in no less detail, into the personal and philosophical ideas which inform pieces like THE NANTES TRIPTYCH and THE PASSING and, again, combines comments from the artist with documentation from a recent exhibition in Brazil.
