The concept behind the installation is to portray victims: victims of society, the establishment and the State. The boxing ring provides the arena in which life's battles are fought, won and lost. The images on the five main monitors depict facets of the institutions of society and the state and the inherent frustration associated with the individual's dealings with a bureaucratic welfare system. The central monitor deals specifically with personal relationships: the expectaion of success and the pain of failure. The overall aim is to convey the day to day struggle for existence, acceptance, happiness and fulfillment in all its complexity.
