| Biography: | Born in London in 1958, John Sergeant
was brought up in the suburbs of
Birmingham. After graduating from the
University of California in Berkeley with a
masters degree in broadcast journalism
he undertook extensive journeys through
Africa, Asia and Central America.
Sergeant developed a career in
documentaries working on over thirty
projects for the BBC and Channel 4,
before completing 'Memory of Berlin'.
